Producers at FOX & Friends in New York contacted us last week and ask me to be on the show to share a few of my favorite science experiments and to talk about Spangler Science Club, our kit of the month program. All in all, I did five segments during my appearances on FOX & Friends Weekends and the main FOX & Friends show, February 19-20, 2017. My thanks to all of the news anchors and meteorologists who participated in the science segments – Clayton Morris, Abby Huntsman, Rick Reichmuth, Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Brian Kilmeade, Pete Hegseth and Adam Koltz.
So, why did NYPD show up during one of the live segments? Simple… someone forget to tell the local authorities that we would be lighting bubbles of hydrogen and oxygen on fire to demonstrate the power behind futuristic fuel. Every once in a while we get a perfect mixture of two parts hydrogen gas to one part oxygen and the exploding bubbles give off a tremendous amount of energy… and they sound like a canon blast. Within seconds, a few of New York’s finest were on scene to find out what happened. Good news… no jail time for Steve. Better news… I was asked to do it again on Monday’s show.
