Everyday STEM for Little Sprouts –
ON-DEMAND Teacher Workshop

5 Hours of Professional Development Credit for Pre-K through Grade 2 Educators

Everyday STEM® for Little Sprouts is the on-demand version of the early childhood workshop that state departments, Head Start programs, and early childhood associations bring Steve Spangler in to deliver. Same workshop, built for Pre-K through Grade 2. Now your teachers can take it for $299 each and earn 5 hours of PD credit, on their own schedule, without a travel budget or a substitute.

It’s a real professional development experience, not a video library. Every activity is inquiry-based, standards-aligned, and built on the C.C.C.O.M. approach to science: count, compare, classify, observe, measure. Steve models each one the way a teacher would actually run it, then sends a hands-on kit to the door so they can do it alongside the videos.

Discover how to bridge the gap between literacy and hands-on science with story-driven STEM/STEAM strategies from Dr. Diane Jackson Schnoor. Dr. Diane reveals her proven Read-Connect-Play-Reflect framework, designed to connect early childhood and elementary literacy development with hands-on STEAM learning through creative picture book and STEAM pairings. Learn how to use interactive read-alouds as the launchpad for Steve Spangler inspired science demonstrations and STEM challenges that playfully foster curiosity, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

We believe Steve has done more to inspire early childhood educators in STEM than anyone… ever. I can’t give him any higher recommendation.

Easy to Follow Learning Modules

A four-year-old points at the picture book and asks why the wolf couldn’t blow the brick house down. That’s not story time anymore. That’s force, structure, and which materials hold up under pressure, and she got there on her own. Knowing what to do in the next sixty seconds is the whole job. That’s what these modules hand you.

Each activity starts with a piece of children’s literature your teachers already know. Picture books, folk tales, fairy tales, and the fractured versions kids love. The story raises a question. The question turns into an investigation a young child can actually do. Steve models every one the way you’d run it in a real classroom, then deconstructs it so your teachers understand the science underneath and can answer the next ten questions a curious four-year-old throws at them.

The whole course is self-paced. A teacher can watch a module at the kitchen table on Sunday and run the activity at circle time on Monday. New to teaching science or twenty years in, they move at their own speed and keep access for a full year.

BONUS Module: Story-Driven STEAM with Dr. Diane Jackson Schnoor

We’ve added a self-contained module to the course from Dr. Diane Jackson Schnoor, an early childhood literacy specialist whose work focuses on the exact connection most Pre-K and K-2 teachers tell us they wish they had: how to take a great picture book and turn it into hands-on science. Her framework pairs naturally with what Steve teaches in the rest of the workshop, and it’s included with every registration.

Receive a Workshop Kit – FREE SHIPPING!

After registering for the course, we’ll ship you Steve’s early childhood workshop kit with some of the harder-to-find materials to help you get started right away. This makes it easy and fun to do the activities alongside Steve as you watch the tutorial videos. In addition to the kit, you’ll also receive access to Steve’s curated Amazon list of the everyday materials and supplies featured throughout the workshop.

Bottom Line… Become a More Confident Early Childhood STEM Teacher

Here’s the honest truth most early childhood teachers won’t say out loud. A lot of them are nervous about science. Not because they don’t care, but because nobody ever showed them how to teach it to a four-year-old. This course fixes that. Steve starts with the picture books your teachers already have on the shelf and turns them into investigations young children can actually do, with the science explained clearly enough that a teacher can handle whatever a curious kid asks next. Your teachers will finish with the knowledge, the kit, the activity guides, and the confidence to make science the part of the day their kids look forward to most.

About Steve Spangler

Ask Steve Spangler what he does, and you’ll get a two-word answer. Science teacher. The Emmys, the nine books, and the 4.5 billion video views are part of the job.

What most people don’t know is how long he’s been doing this work with the youngest learners. For nearly thirty years, Steve has been a featured speaker at early childhood conferences across the country, from the National Association for the Education of Young Children to its state affiliates in Washington, California, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, Florida, New York, and dozens more. Frog Street honored him with a lifetime achievement award at its national Splash conference, recognizing two decades of helping early childhood educators fall in love with teaching science.

He started in an elementary classroom in the Cherry Creek schools and built a career on one idea: curiosity is easier to spark when a child has something to do. His latest book, The Engagement Effect (Forefront Books, 2025), is the playbook behind that career. Today he serves as STEM Educator in Residence at High Point University. He still gets the same kick out of watching a four-year-old lean in.

Reviews ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You did more than just teach us about your “best day ever” principle – you made it happen for me and my staff. One of my teachers who attended the workshop was planning to request a transfer to another campus next year because she had lost her passion for teaching. She told me this morning that you helped her rediscover her “why” and that’s why she has decided to stay at our school. This brought me to tears because we get to keep an outstanding teacher, and I’m equally grateful for you helping all of my other teachers renew their passion for learning and teaching.

Betsy Fluellen – Mount Pleasant Independent School District

Beyond wow… how can I begin to thank you for inspiring teachers after what has been an incredibly challenging time for our staff. You gave us much-needed fire and passion, and you helped us re-imagine how we MUST connect and engage with our children. I’m blown away by passion and mission to empower teachers to go out and create “BEST DAY EVER” experiences for kids.

Ashleigh Brateman – Littleton Public Schools

Steve is the most engaging and entertaining presenter. This was our third year having him train our prekindergarten teachers and we could not ask for a better way to kick off the school year. Not only are the experiences fun and full of learning, teachers are hands on from start to finish—just how we expect them to teach in their classrooms.

Michele Olsen – Terrebonne Parish School District, Louisiana

Best STEM professional development I’ve ever been to – seriously! After the last 2 years… feeling a smidge burnt out and bogged down (uninspired), Steve Spangler completely reminded me why I do what I do.

Jacqui J. – Lake County Quality Care Workshop

I can’t thank you and your team enough for the BEST DAY EVER experience you created for our staff. Your inspirational approach will have a profound impact on how our teachers create experiences for our young learners in the future.
