He’s a two-time Emmy Award winner and the host of the nationally syndicated science series DIY Sci on FOX and CW affiliates, also streaming on Amazon Prime. He’s been a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show 27 times, where Ellen called him America’s Science Teacher.
Across more than thirty years on camera, Steve has logged over 2,100 television appearances. He’s delivered more than 1,500 live segments on KUSA 9NEWS Denver (NBC), with national appearances on the Today Show, Good Morning America, History Channel, Food Network, Fox & Friends, CNN, HLN, the Weather Channel, and others.
Steve specializes in hands-on, on-camera science that lands in under four minutes: kitchen chemistry, holiday and seasonal demos, weather science, viral experiments, and the science behind everyday things. He’s the producer’s call when a segment needs something visual that won’t fail on live TV.
