I rarely get to talk about my influence as a “magician” in my career as a STEM educator. But Dr. Nido Qubein, President of High Point University, was curious about how the art of magic impacted my career as an educator… plus so much more.
I’m honored to be a guest on Dr. Qubein’s show SIDE BY SIDE, which airs on PBS. This episode was taped in the beautiful theater at High Point University, and the interview focuses on some of the most significant factors educators face today.
I’m grateful to Dr. Qubein for asking such thoughtful and thought-provoking questions and taking a genuine interest in my work as a STEM educator. I hope you’ll tune in and watch the interview that airs tonight or you can click on the link above to stream the video.
Side By Side airs weekly on PBS North Carolina. Each week, Dr. Qubein sits down with an influential leader from the world of culture, politics, business and technology in an engaging conversation about innovation and resilience. Other guests this season include ESPN anchor Sage Steele, Netflix cofounder Marc Randolph, Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan, chef and TV personality Vivian Howard, Simply Southern founder Ginger Aydogdu, and KIND founder and executive Daniel Lubetzky.
In 2022, Spangler joined the faculty at High Point University (High Point, North Carolina) as the STEM Educator in Residence. Steve works with students and faculty to create transformational experiences that inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
